STROLLERS RUN TO RIO!
Sunderland Strollers who were a massive presence at the Sunderland City HM and 10K this year have set themselves an Olympic-sized challenge!
In support of Olympian Stroller Aly Dixon the Strollers Run to Rio challenge has the club in the ‘running zone’ now and runners are busy ticking off the 224 marathons to make up the distance between Sunderland & Rio.
Several went slightly more than the ‘extra mile’ by completing the Lakeland 100 & 50 events last weekend! The club also hosts a Rio-themed Point to Point Challenge on the morning of Aly’s race which will see teams of three cover 26.2 miles around Sunderland while fulfilling various challenges and possible forfeits. Their fundraising is going well with almost £2000 of the £5000 target raised already.
Anyone can get involved by running, logging miles on Strava and donating £26.20 to St Benedicts Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care (chosen by Aly)
