Our volunteers are essential in making sure that race day is a huge success. YOU can be part of our small army of helpers, ensuring that runners and spectators alike have a great experience in Sunderland. You don’t need any special skills, just be RELIABLE, FLEXIBLE and have lots of ENTHUSIAM! There are a whole range of roles available on race day with something for everyone…

Start/Finish Support, Course Marshall, Baggage security, Car Parking duties, manning the water stations, Expo and runner village support, Photographers and our valuable Race Guru’s.

Volunteering is a great way to have fun, make friends, enhance your CV and experience the electric atmosphere of race day. We’ll provide you with an event jacket, refreshments, goodie bag and on the day support through a supervisor as well as all the support you need to undertake your role.

Maybe you have friends or family members running and you too want to be part of the big city event….why not volunteer? Or if you’re part of a local community or youth group that might be interested in getting involved, we would love to hear from you!
